Clinical Internships |
OCRC is dedicated to preparing interns to move into private practice. Interns must be registered marriage and family therapist interns or professional clinical counselor interns who are working towards licensure. Interns receive ongoing individual and group supervision with the OCRC clinical supervisor or qualified licensed therapist and training on a variety of therapeutic topics.
We expect our interns to provide at least 10 therapy hours per week on a sliding fee scale. Interns must abide by all BBS licensing requirements and ethical/legal requirements. We currently have offices in Berkeley and Pleasant Hill. You may choose one or both office locations for client visits.
Interns must feel ready and be motivated to market Oak Creek and themselves in order to build a sustainable practice. We encourage interns to join professional associations, find and attend networking events, develop presentations on mental health topics and speak to groups at meetings, and participate in other marketing activities such as creating their own websites and profiles on referral sites and cultivating referral sources. One source of client referrals are clinics, counseling centers and private-practice therapists from the surrounding communities. Therefore, interns are expected to build and maintain relationships with these referrals sources and participate in community meetings and activities.
To apply for an intern position, you must:
