I am glad you have chosen to be here. It takes courage to finally take the first steps to facing your inner fears, confronting them in counseling and then begin making positive changes in your life. Therapy is a life changing experience and a journey to self-growth, internal wisdom and empowerment. Therapy can positively change lives because everyday I see incredible transformations take place in the lives of the children, teens, adults, families and couples I work with. If you feel as though you aren’t being heard and seen or understood in the way you would like in your life, talking to a therapist can help. As a team, we will look for solutions, whether it is to repair the relationships in your life, explore the past and present or determine the best path that will allow you to live up to your full potential and inner passions. As my client, it is my personal mission that you (your partner, family, or child/teen) will experience trust, respect, empathy and recognition for the hard work you bring to the room. My therapy style is based upon attachment, existential humanistic and solution-focused approaches. I warmly welcome individuals, couples, and families from all ethnically diverse backgrounds and sexual orientations, and have extensive training to work with issues of racism, sexism, and homophobia. If you are looking for an individual, couples, family and/or children/teen therapist, please call today. Many of the issues I work with clients include depression, anxiety, trauma, grief & loss, life transitions (exploration during adolescent years, “quarter life crisis”, marriage, blended families, divorce, etc.), individuation, cultural exploration and couple conflicts (communication, trust, infidelity, parenting styles, and sex therapy). I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Communication from the University of California, Davis and hold a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from the John F. Kennedy University. I am also a therapist of the California State University of East Bay (Hayward), providing individual, couples and occasionally facilitating group therapy as well as educational workshops for the student population. My personal interests include cooking, dance, writing and singing. I work from the Pleasant Hill office and can be conveniently reached directly at 888-637-7404 ext. 24. Please feel free to leave a message of any length and I will return your call within 24 hours (with exception of holidays and weekends).
