Oak Creek Relational Counseling Center is glad to welcome Jennifer Reposar to our clinical training team. Jennifer is a graduate student at Saint Mary's College of California and a Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee, working under the clinical supervision of Stephen Polin, LMFT #7861. She sees individuals, couples, teens, children, and families, with a particular interest in life transitions, grief, parenting, and the emotional terrain of motherhood — including the perinatal and postpartum period. A Curious and Compassionate ApproachJennifer describes her work as curious, compassionate, and collaborative. Her framework is integrative and holistic, drawing from person-centered, psychodynamic, and relational perspectives rather than a single fixed method. That flexibility matters: no two clients arrive with the same history, and Jennifer's belief is that healing happens when people feel genuinely seen and accepted as they are, not fit into a predetermined mold. She also brings warmth and, when it's welcome, humor into the room — a reminder that depth and lightness aren't mutually exclusive in therapy. Supporting Life's Transitions Much of Jennifer's clinical interest centers on change — the relationship ruptures, parenting challenges, and losses that reshape how people see themselves and their families. She works with clients navigating anxiety and overthinking, depression and low mood, attachment and relationship patterns, and grief. Her relational-cultural and existential training shows up here too, in how she helps clients make sense of change not just individually, but in the context of the people around them. A Focus on Motherhood and the Perinatal Journey Jennifer has a particular interest in supporting women and families through the transition into motherhood, including the perinatal and postpartum periods. This is an area where specialized support matters: perinatal mood and anxiety disorders are among the most common complications of childbirth, with research estimating that roughly 10% to 20% of women worldwide experience postpartum depression, and organizations like Postpartum Support International note that many cases go undiscussed due to stigma or simply not knowing what's normal versus what warrants support. Jennifer's approach gives new and expecting parents a space to process this transition without judgment. Getting to Know Jennifer Jennifer holds a B.A. in Psychology from San Francisco State University and is currently completing her M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy at Saint Mary's College of California. She also incorporates mindfulness and attention to the mind-body connection into sessions when it supports the work. Jennifer is available for both telehealth and in-person sessions at our Pleasant Hill office. Jennifer's focus areas include:
