Desiree Tatarazuk, Trainee (She/They)
"To affect the quality of the day, that is the highest of arts." - Thoreau Hi, I’m Desiree Tatarazuk (she/they), and I’m an MFT Trainee currently working in the East Bay. I support individuals, couples, and children in navigating life’s complexities. My approach is relational, meaning that I believe healing happens when we feel safe and understood. My goal is to support you in identifying your values and becoming intentional about the way you move through life. When we are grounded, our struggles become easier to navigate. Whether you’re moving through grief, anxiety, self-doubt, or relationship difficulties, I’m here to listen with curiosity and care and help you find clarity.
My Approach I combine psychodynamic, existential, person-centered, and feminist approaches: Psychodynamic Therapy Psychodynamic Therapy invites you to look at your early childhood experiences and how they continue to shape who you are now. The goal is to bring unconscious feelings and motivations to the surface so that you are empowered to act with greater clarity. Existential Therapy Existential Therapy looks at your values and what it means to live authentically. By developing a clear understanding of what your values actually are you can begin making choices that are in alignment with who you want to be. Person-Centered Therapy Person-Centered Therapy emphasizes the importance of your unique story. It offers an opportunity to acknowledge the strengths you’ve cultivated throughout your life and how you can draw on those moving forward. Feminist Therapy Feminist Therapy is for everyone regardless of gender. It provides a lens for looking at how the systems that you exist within (political, societal, cultural) have impacted your circumstances and experience. About Me I am a queer, white, cisgender woman. As a highly sensitive person who has experienced challenges with relationships, anxiety, and self-esteem, I bring an understanding of the profound healing that comes from connection and acceptance. Therapy transformed my life, and I am honored to hold that space for others. For me, this work is a calling. |
