I'm Julie Beach, a Marriage and Family Therapy student intern at Oak Creek Relational Counseling Center in Pleasant Hill, supervised by Steven Polin, LMFT. When stress, past trauma, or demanding careers start to affect a relationship, many couples feel disconnected, reactive, or stuck in the same cycles. Others arrive knowing something feels off but aren't sure how to fix it.
Therapy can help create clarity, stability, and real change. I offer affordable therapy in Pleasant Hill and online, with a strong focus on working with couples. I also enjoy working with individuals and families. I provide a steady, supportive space where partners and individuals can slow down, feel heard, and work toward healthier communication and connection.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent nearly two decades as a 911 paramedic, including four years in Emergency Management. I understand high-stress environments, trauma exposure, and the pressure to keep functioning while carrying a lot internally. That experience shapes how I work with clients and how I understand what stress and trauma can look like in both individuals and relationships.
My approach is collaborative and trauma-informed, grounded in respect, clarity, and practical progress. Whether you come in alone or with your partner, we'll focus on reducing distress and helping you feel more grounded, supported, and connected. If you are ready to take the next step, I would be honored to connect. Julie Beach is supervised by Stephen Polin, LMFT #7861
