Meet Our Therapists

At Oak Creek Relational Counseling Center, our therapists reflect the communities in which we serve. We feel it is essential that our clients feel comfortable knowing their individuality will be respected and honored.

To read about our therapists, click on a therapist's photo below and visit their profile pages.

NOTE:  Some of our therapists are trainees. They are working towards a Masters Degree and Licensure and are supervised closely at our Agency. They are identified after their name on the "Meet our Therapists" header above.
Kevin Tran-Mortel, APCC #13594
Our therapists work from a variety of orientations and specializations. During the referral and intake process, you will have a chance to talk about your needs and express your preferences for therapy including wether you’d like to do sessions in person at our Pleasant Hill clinic or online through Telehealth. Many of our therapists have afternoon, evening, and weekend availability.  We provide therapy and counseling to clients from a wide variety of backgrounds, cultures and preferences in a broad spectrum of needs, such as the following:
  • Depression
  • Anxiety & stress related symptoms
  • Eating disorders
  • Addiction and substance abuse
  • Matters related to the LGBTQ Community
  • Survivors of domestic violence
  • Career and academic counseling
  • Anger management
  • Trauma
  • Relationship counseling
  • Victims of violence (outside the home)
  • Personal growth and identity issues
  • Challenges of adolescence
  • Parenting challenges
  • Family dynamics
  • Therapy and support groups
  • Grief and loss
  • Aging and mid-life issues, other phase of life challenges
Sessions:
Typically, clients meet their therapists for one 50-minute session per week. Depending on your needs and the therapist, session times may be longer than 50-minutes or more frequent then once per week. Your therapist will discuss scheduling with you during the consultation.

Groups:
In addition to individual, conjoint and family counseling, we offer therapy support groups. Groups typically meet for two hours each session and have 5-8 members. The group facilitators and the type of group will determine if the group will meet for a fixed number of sessions, usually between 8-12 sessions, or is on-going. The facilitators will also set the cost either as a total for the fixed number of sessions, or on a per session basis, which can be lower than the cost of individual therapy sessions. Groups are formed based on the needs of the community. If you are interested in joining a group, please fill out the contact form on our Open Groups page or email
[email protected].

In Person, In Home, or  Online Sessions:
If you live within California, Oak Creek can assist you with your mental health needs. You do not need to live near our Pleasant Hill clinic to receive our sliding scale rate or have one of our therapist be your counselor. These sessions can be individual, couple, or family sessions. If you'd like more information about if Telehealth is right for you or about how you access your Telehealth session, please review our dedicated Telehealth page.
We believe all people deserve mental health care services.  If you are unable to leave your home for any reason and zoom sessions are not a good fit for you, let us know! We may be able to meet you at a convenient location, so please reach out to us.

Fees:
OCRCC's regular fees are $70.00 to $150.00 per 50-minute session. Payment is due at the beginning of each session unless other arrangements are made with your therapist. If you qualify, our therapists can also work with you on a pro/bono sliding scale and will work with you to set a fee that meets your financial needs. Pro bono/sliding scale fees depend upon the therapist and your income. You must be receiving government assistance to qualify for pro bono/sliding scale fees. We accept personal checks, Visa, Mastercard, Zelle, Venmo, and of course cash.  There is a special negotiated fee of $10.00 off per session for Kaiser Health Plan Members.
Let us know the best days and time of day to reach you. An example would be Monday-Friday before 1pm.
If you have a preferred therapist, select them from the drop down menu below and we will get you in touch. If you have no preference, please select the first option of "Choose A Therapist".
